last night robin, nathan little death and i were sitting in our local pub sipping drinks and talking about the ups and downs of being in a band. it's super annoying at times, and super frustrating, and hard work (kinda) - especially when you work full time, but it's also so much fun, sometimes too much fun. it's even fun sitting in a pub with yr buddies, bitching about it.

this is a photo from my last show with TODD at the garage. i think it was 2005. this is when everything kinda changed for me. i loved that band, but i couldn't play in them anymore.

then this one is from one of my favourite shows ever. we had been back from a west coast us tour with the mae shi for a couple of days, and we played an upset the rhythm night at the ICA. the mae shi had flown in that day to start a uk tour, and john jumped on a bus to come and find us. he made it. i don't know how. he was jet-lagged and didn't really know where he was heading, but he made it, and it was so cool to have him sing with us in london, when 2 night before we all drove through the night from sacramento to LA to catch our flight home. that night our friend, giles did visuals for us too. visuals are the future. since that show i have dedicated my life to VISUALS.


and playing in bands with my friends... until i get too old to shred.
