meet the parents... eek.

i was having this email conversation with robin today about when you meet a girlfriends parents for the first time. here's what robin said. it made me LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL lots and lots.

G.FRIEND - "mum i want you to meet john"

PARENTS - "hi john, nice to meet you. X says your in a band, X's dad used to be in a prog rock band, what does your band sound like?"

"what does it say on your knees john?" - (this is a reference to some tattoos.)

"ooh the beach boys, how interesting!!", "frank, johns a big beach boys fan"

"...so I suppose we'll be seeing you on top of the pops soon then?"

"well what kind of genre is prey, oh pre sorry?.. give us some names, were not THAT out of touch are we??"

this hasn't really happen to me with ex girlfriends parents, as they have always been really cool, but i've totally had these conversations with old family members or family friends who i rarely see.
